After stay at Jerejak Resort, we check-in into Bayview Hotel @ Georgetown on 17 June 2009 for 1 night.
The check-in wasn’t impressive at all and very disappointingto a local like me. Bcoz they doesn’t really pay attention to local. I am travelling with hand carry luggage and an infant, can you imagine how inconvenience it is and clumsy but they just pretend that they don’t see it. I was even waited for 50 minutes for my room.
For the 50 minutes wandering at the lobby while carrying Haylee, I observed how they practise double standard.
-
Whenever the adult foreigner check-in (with backpack) the Concierge suddenly became so helpful and attentive to them. The Concierge even offered to carry their heavy backpack when they check-in into their room.
-
The foreigner gets their room immediately when they check-in at the counter.
-
Even their GM also have the same attitude and no wonder the staff are following as well.
Maybe they can give good tipping. I don’t really hunger for good service but they are just too obvious and moreover they are international (4-5 stars) chain hotels not motel. What a poor hotelier service.
Anyway their room layout is quite spacious but not as spacious as Jerejak. Bayview breakfast is much better then Jerejak. Anyway Georgetown has the best food everywhere so there is no worries finding food.
We didn’t explore Georgetown so much coz we are lack of time. To go round the island at least 3D/2N stay especially travelling with kids. We only visited Toy Museum, had dinner at the Gurney Drive and some shopping mall.
